Affiliate Account Approval Rules !
I review affiliate applications every working day at iMonetizeIt, an international CPA and Smartlink network. Most rejections do not happen because someone is a beginner. They happen because the application answers nothing a manager actually needs to know.
Here is what is really going on behind the "Under review" screen, and how to pass it the first time.
What a manager checks in the first 60 seconds
Applications are not read line by line. A manager scans for four things, in this order.
Where does the traffic come from? Facebook, Google UAC, TikTok, push, in-app, SEO, email — a specific source, not "social media".
Is that source allowed for the offers you want? A dating offer that bans incentivised traffic will not go to someone running rewarded ads.
Can you be verified? A real messenger contact, a live site, an app in a store, or a profile somewhere in the industry.
Have you worked with a network before? Any honest answer is fine. A blank answer is not.
If those four are clear, approval is usually quick. If one is missing, the application drops to the bottom of the queue.
The seven mistakes that get applications rejected
A free email with a random name. An address like bestoffers2299@gmail.com tells a manager nothing. Use a domain email, or at least an address with your real name in it.
An empty traffic source field. Writing "all types" is worse than writing nothing. It reads as someone who has not run a campaign yet, or someone who plans to send whatever converts.
No messenger contact. Telegram or Skype is how this industry works. An application with no way to reach you in real time is an application nobody chases.
A dead or parked website. Managers click the link. If it opens a "coming soon" page or a 404, the application is finished right there.
Copied text. Managers read hundreds of these. A description that appears word for word on another application is an instant red flag.
Claiming volume you cannot show. Saying you send 50,000 clicks a day is easy. Being asked for a screenshot from your tracker and going quiet is what ends the conversation.
Applying to twenty networks in one night with the same blank form. Networks talk to each other, and the pattern is obvious.
What a good application actually looks like
You do not need big numbers. You need to be specific and checkable.
State your traffic source and your geos. "Push and in-app traffic, mainly Tier 3 — India, Indonesia, Brazil" is enough.
Name your tracker. Keitaro, Binom, RedTrack, Voluum — it does not matter which. It tells the manager you measure what you do.
Give one verifiable link. A site, an app listing, a LinkedIn profile, or a public case study.
Say what you want to run. "Looking for Smartlink and dating CPL offers" gets you routed to the right manager immediately.
If you are new, say so and say what you are testing. Networks approve beginners every week. What they do not approve is someone hiding that they are new.
After approval: the first two weeks decide everything
Approval is not the finish line. A manager watches your first traffic closely, because that is when fraud and bot traffic usually appear.
Send real traffic early, even if it is small. Accounts that are approved and then sit unused for a month get deprioritised.
Never mix sources without telling your manager. If a campaign starts pulling from a source you never declared, conversions get held for review — and that hold is what most affiliates mistake for a network "not paying".
Ask about caps and payout bumps directly. Managers move volume to affiliates who talk to them. Higher payouts are given far more often than they are advertised.
Keep your postback and tracking links clean. Broken postbacks make good traffic look like it converts at zero, and that is a problem you create for yourself.
The short version
Networks are not trying to keep you out. Every approved affiliate who sends clean traffic is revenue for the network and commission for the manager reviewing your form. The whole approval process exists to answer one question: is this traffic real, and does this person know where it comes from?
Answer that clearly and you will be approved almost every time.
